Sunday, November 13, 2016 is a very good day for Rainbow Reading Gardens as we received donation from Astra Runners Community, on its third anniversary celebration at World Trade Center 2, Jakarta. The rain falling down that morning did not lessen even an inch the enthusiasm of all paricipants to take part in the event.

 

Astra Runners is a community whose members are Astra Group employees, which routinely hosts or participates in numerous running events in Indonesia, one of which is called ‘We Run, We Care, We Share’. This year marks the third year of this running competition & charity event. Under this concept, 50% of the registration fee is donated for charity.

 

About 1000 runners took part in this charity running event, either in Fun Walk 3K or Run 6K. On this event, donation worth Rp 66 million was collected and donated to Rainbow Reading Gardens.

 

The donation was given directly by the Director of PT Astra International, Suparno Djasmin, and was witnessed by the board of directors of Astra Group, who are also the supervisors of Astra Runners Community.

 

Rainbow Reading Gardens expresses the greatest gratitude for the donation and the concern shown by Astra Runners Community to take part in actualizing the dreams of kids in the Eastern Indonesia by providing them with broader access to books. This concern shows we all agree that books are the windows to see the world.
