The next day we continued the opening ceremony at the Labuan Bajo 1 primary state school. The school is one of the oldest schools in Labuan Bajo. It’s also very well known as one of the the harbour city’s landmark due to it’s location that is frequently passed by tourists.
The school librarian, Miss Emil, was very nervous due to the short preparation time for the ceremony. Especially when the head of sports and education department was present. However he encouraged her to continue her dedication to supervise and manage the library. He also believes that more libraries should be open around West Manggarai.
Once again we received a warm welcome from the students who performed many dances to entertain the guests. They were very happy to know that their school library is now facilitated with 1900 books to fulfill the needs of it’s 386 students. Best wishes to Miss Emil!
